On Friday 19 October, 31 Snails waited with baited breath to find out who would win the clubs place in the Virgin Money London Marathon. For anyone who could come down to the club house, we had a social run to help calm nerves and then some homecooked chilli…and then the draw.
Jodie and El went live on Facebook, folded the names and put them in the newly made tombola drum. Gary Taylor, who won last years place then mixed up the names and picked out the winner who was…..
HANNAH PRIESTMAN!
Funnily, that’s me, so it’s slightly strange to write this blog…congratulating myself on winning the place. However I can say that I’m incredibly grateful and determined the do the club proud. I’m also looking forward to running with our other snails who have a ballot place, Stu Pilling, Judith Hitchmough and Gary Taylor (the lucky so and so, two years in a row!).
We’ll also have some more charity runners soon confirmed in the coming weeks so I’ll update the list of everyone to look out for.
For anyone who was disappointed this year, a lot of snails are looking at the Liverpool rock n roll marathon at the end of May. Edinburgh is also meant to be a great course and of course there’s the Yorkshire marathon in October to get your teeth in to.
Happy training anyone!
