45 runners braved a bitterly cold, stupidly early start for the first race of the 2019 Club Championships. Sold as a PB spectacular it didn’t disappoint, there are too many superb performances to recount however everyone should be proud of resisting the urge to turn over at the sound of a pre 7am alarm! Not sure if it’s commitment or stupidity but you all have more than enough of both.
Not sure about everyone else but after only entering to get the aforementioned PB, I weirdly enjoyed the course, busy enough to push you along but not busy enough to hamper progress. The support from the rest of the Snails on the other side was 2nd to none and definately added to the experience.
The Dewsbury results and the current standings have been uploaded to the website - https://www.sowerbybridgesnails.com/club-championships-2019/
We move on next to the Windmill 6 on 24th March, a 6 mile road race promising spectacular views across Huddersfield, Wakefield, Penistone and the surrounding areas. This has officially sold out however I believe I saw a post saying you could enter on the day but would not receive a medal. Please confirm this yourself before travelling. Also, don’t forget the 2nd round of the parkrun champs at Oakwell Hall next Saturday.
